What is Musculoskeletal Pain?

The MSK System is responsive for body movements, providing a framework to protect internal organs and acting as a reservoir for storage of calcium and phosphate in the regulation mineral homeostasis.

Disorders of the musculoskeletal (MSK) system are to prevalent throughout the world, affecting all ages and ethnic groups. The principal manifestations are pain and impairment of locomotor function.

MSK disorders are the single most common cause of physical disability in the elderly, and around one-third of all people with physical disability have MSK disorder as the primary case.

Most regional MSK pain arises from muscles, tendons and periarticular structures

What is MLS Therapy?

MLS Therapy is a new therapy for treating pain inflammation and oedema and for repairing superficial lesions. MLS therapy is able to overcome the limit imposed by selecting one of the two emission types, since it is based on the characteristic therapeutic properties of a new laser pulse. It uses an MLS (Multiwave Locked System) pulse, a combined, synchronized emission of continuous and pulsed laser emissions with different infrared wavelengths.

Advantages of the MLS Therapy

1. Symptoms improve from the very first application

2. MLS Therapy is non-invasive, painless and can be applied successfully to patients of any age

3. Short treatment times and long lasting results and possibility to treat greater number of patients

4. Strong anti-inflammatory effect

5. Fast healing from strains and sprains

6. Fast recovery of structural integrity of damaged muscles

7. Fast resolution of edematous states

8. Immediate improvement of local circulation

Indication of MLS Therapy

MLS Therapy is a therapeutic technique that is particularly suitable for numerous diseases and patient affected by specific problems such as,

Low Back Pain, Cervical / Neck Pain, Sports Injury, Osteoarthritis of knee joints, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI), Epicondylitis, Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain, Sprains (ankle), Strains, Ligament Injury, TMJ Disorder, Planter Fascitis, Neuritis, Shoulder Pain.

How long will be the treatment session?

The MLS Therapy usually needs 15-20 days or 2-3 weeks. However, the patient's response can vary depending on the person's characteristics (age, prototype), medical history, and what state the pathology is at (acute, or chronic).

Is MLS Therapy safe?

Yes, MLS Therapy is safe, and is it to be remembered that patients will not feel any pain, and the therapy is essentially 'cold', though they may experience a slight sensation of heat (owing to the superficial vaso-dilation produced by the MLS Therapy).

Does MLS Therapy cause heat damage or cancer?

No. The average powers and the type of light source (non-ionizing) do not have heat damage, or carcinogenic (cancer causing) effects. Due to the increase of circulation, there is sometimes a minimal sensation of warmth locally.

In Laser Medical Center we use the new MIXS MLS model, a fixed pointing device, is functional since, in the semiautomatic modality, and the MLS Therapy hand piece can be easily applied to the device.

Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression (PLDD)

PLDD is an entirely new approach to the treatment of herniated intervertebral disc disease. PLDD is minimally invasive, it can be performed as an out patient procedure, requires no general anesthesia, and has a high success rate, a low recurrence rate, and low complication rate. PLDD can be used in various problems related to low back pain such as, Lumber Spondylosis, Lumber disc prolapse with rediculopathy, Lumbrosciatics etc.
